What Causes Candida Albicans?
Candida infections plague many women (and men) all over the world. So I bet you're wandering, what causes candida?
1. The most common causes of this disease is by over using antibiotics. If over used, antibiotics can destroy good bacteria and cause the infection to spread throughout your gut. Antibiotics taken in a low dose for a long period of time or several large doses in a short amount (6 months) can lead to a serious infection.
2. Stress and trauma are another cause of Candida Albicans. When humans are stressed out, a chemical called Cortisol is released. This causes our sugar levels to increase and supresses our immune system. Due to the increase in sugar levels, your yeast cells begin to multiply. And since Cortisol supresses your immune system, your body can't fight back against the yeast.
3. Changing hormone levels is one of the reasons why over 60% of candidasis infections are in women. Birth control pills increase your estrogen which causes an increased production in yeast. HRT (hormone replacement therapy) are usually prescribed to women with menstrual problems that also result in the cause of candida albicans.
4. Eating an excessive amount of carbs and sugar. Sugar feeds the bacteria found in infections and allows the yeast to increase.
5. Drinking too much alcohol. Alcohol is known to kill good bacteria within your body. Beer also contains sugar which can feed the yeast in the candidasis infection.
6. Constipation in the colon is another cause of candida. When you're constipated, things move rather slowly inside your intestines. When this happens, your gut becomes to alkaline. Candida thrives in alkaline environments. Thus, constipation puts you at risk for having an infection.
7. Poor diet. By having a poor diet, you will have a higher chance of getting candidasis or yeast infection. Stimulants and depressants (alcohol, caffeine, nicotine) release sugars into the blood stream. As we said before, sugar just adds fuel to the fire.
Candida Treatments
1. The best way to cure candidasis and yeast infections is to do a candida cleanse. Cleansing involves a few different steps including flushing out your colon of harmful toxins and body pollution and eliminating intestinal parasites. Cleansing your colon is the most critical step in eliminating an infection.
2. Follow an anti-candida diet. This involves proper diet and nutrition to ensure your body eliminates candida albicans for good.
