Is Colon Cleansing Safe?
I'm sure you might be wondering, is colon cleansing safe? Or there any dangers? This is a valid concern of many individuals and we will address this question in this article.
First off, there are many different ways to cleanse your colon. Some of these methods include colonic irrigation, homemade enemas, laxatives, and colon cleansers.
Yes, colon cleansing is safe and effective if you do it the right way. We will review each of the methods below, and give you our recommendation on which route is the safest and most effective way to go.
1. Colonic Irrigation (Not Safe)
This method involves flushing out your colon by sticking a tube up your rectum. This tube inserts a solution that is usually made up of water and minerals. The problem with this method is that it can be uncomfortable and cost a pretty penny. Using this method is generally safe as it is performed by a medical professional using steralized equipment.
The reason we wouldn't recommend a colonic irrigation to anyone is because it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing having a stranger stick a tube in your rectum. Some studies also show that only 80% of your colon can't be reached using a colonic. Overall, colonics are safe, BUT there are other methods that are more effective, cheaper, and also safe.
2. Taking Laxatives (Not Safe)
Laxatives are definately NOT a safe way to do a colon cleanse. Laxatives can cause dependency and the colon will lose it's natural ability to cleanse itself. Laxatives might be okay to use once in a great while for a case of constipation. But not only is it not safe for colon cleansing, but it also only provides temporary relief and doesn't fix the root of the problem.
3. Homemade Colon Cleanse Enema (Not Safe)
Enemas are another form of a homemade colon cleanse. This method is similar to a colonic, except the main difference being that you give the enema to yourself rather than have a doctor administer it to you. An enema involves a rectal tube, lubrication, enema bag, enema solution, and a few other parts. This method involves manually pouring a solution into your colon from a tube inserted in your rectum.
This causes you to have an involuntary bowel movements expelling the solution inside of your body. This means that you need to be near a toilet for over an hour after you perform the enema. Overall, we don't believe this method is very safe. Since you're doing it by yourself, instead of a medical doctor, there are many things that could go wrong. We don't recommend this method for anyone trying to cleanse the colon.
4. Colon Cleansers - ** Highly Recommended! **
This method is definately the safest way to do a colon cleanse and detoxify your internal organs. Most colon cleansers use natural herbal nutrients that help detoxify and cleanse your body of harmful toxins.
The best thing I can recommend for doing a safe colon cleanse is a product called Bowtrol. I have reviewed all the most popular cleansers on the market, and I have even tried several of them as well. I had the best results with Bowtrol. The ingredients are 100% natural, and are very gentle on the digestive system unlike other cleansers.
